It is required to match the pace with the ever changing society. Also to meet the needs and aspirations of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>On 23rd June 2010, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs in its 146th report recommended the need of a comprehensive review of the Criminal Justice System of the country. Earlier also 111th and 128th reports of the Parliamentary Standing Committee stressed the need to reform and rationalize the criminal law of the country by introducing a legislation in Parliament instead of bringing about bit by bit amendments in respective Acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Nityanand Rai, the current Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Government of India, in a written reply to question posed by TMC Rajya Sabha MP Jawhar Sircar said that-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201d the Government of India has initiated the process for comprehensive amendments to criminal laws in consultation with all the stakeholders.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Changes in the Criminal Laws:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><br>With an aim to make the necessary changes in the criminal laws such as- <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Indian Penal Code<\/li><li>Criminal Procedure Code <\/li><li>Indian Evidence Act<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>to provide affordable as well as speedy justice to all and to create people centric legal structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought suggestions from the Chief Ministers, Governors, Union Territory Administrators, Lieutenant Governors, Chief Justices of the various High Courts, Chief Justice of India, Bar Council of the various States, Bar Council of India, law institutes, various universities, and all MPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra said that-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A Committee under the chairpersonship of Ranbir Singh, the Vice Chancellor of National Law University, Delhi has been constituted to suggest the reforms in Criminal laws.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further added that, \u201d The government is committed to bring out a comprehensive legislation taking into account the recommendations of the committee and the suggestions received from all the stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Blog By: Shimona Singh Kulhara<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube: Vidhik Shiksha<br><a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/c\/manmohanjoshi\">https:\/\/youtube.com\/c\/manmohanjoshi<\/a><br>For more blogs reach us at www.vidhikshiksha.com<br><a href=\"https:\/\/vidhikshiksha.com\/blog\/2020\/12\/\u0938\u0942\u091a\u0928\u093e-\u0915\u093e-\u0905\u0927\u093f\u0915\u093e\u0930\/\">New blog: Right to Information<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amendments in criminal justice system is an eternal process, so that the laws do not become obsolete.
